Hot off the PressLetter from our President
2009 was another great year at Sil-Pro. The close of one year marks the beginning of another. 2010 promises to be another year of change and continuous improvement. We are planning to complete our 1,500 sq. ft. clean room expansion by the end of the first quarter. This expansion will give us the room we need for future growth and additional equipment capabilities. 2009 was a year of continued improvements over the prior year. The entire Sil-Pro team worked hard to drive improvements that resulted in dramatic improvements to on-time delivery as well as reduced lead days. These improvements resulted in lower cost and improved quality. Across the board Sil-Pro was able to reduce prices to our customers in 2009. In 2010 the team will continue to eliminate waste through the use of lean manufacturing principles and tools. Real time process monitoring will be implemented throughout the manufacturing facility with control limits and reaction plans. Manufacturing cells will have HMI’s (human machine interfaces) in which the operators will input good part and scrap part quantities as the product is being worked on. The HMI’s will track the process performance and give the operator visual feed back via a control chart format to let them know if the process is in control. Computers in the cell will also display the products history of non-conformances, customer returns, and key dimensional performance in control chart format. The computers will also display visual aids for the product being produced in the cell. Sil-Pro’s automation and IT team developed the systems and programs that will be used in the lean cells. Utilization of these tools will enable Sil-Pro to move from reactive manufacturing to proactive manufacturing. Sil-Pro is committed to the utilization of state of the art equipment and processes along with empowered and accountable team members to deliver the highest quality product to our customers. Thanks again for your support and we look forward to serving you even better in 2010. |
