On behalf of everyone on the Sil-Pro team I would like to thank our customers for supporting Sil-Pro over the last 11 years. I remember the day that our very first order came in. In fact, the order hangs in the front lobby to this day. The customer hand delivered their order because they knew how excited we would be to have the first order in the history of the company. We were so careful not to fold or wrinkle it. The very next day we ran off to have it matted in Sil-Pro blue and framed in elegant mahogany. One could certainly argue that the first order is the most important one, after all without it there wouldn’t even be a Sil-Pro today. The truth is that every order is important even though they don’t all get matted, framed and hung on the wall. Every order we receive gives us an opportunity to fulfill the motto posted throughout our facility: Challenge Yourself, Strive for Excellence, Be World Class. (read more)

Facility Expansion
As preliminary work for the 2009 budget was being performed back in Q2 of 2008, it became apparent to management that Sil-Pro was headed for a period of extraordinary sales growth. Many of the development activities the company had been engaged in over the past few years were starting to take shape, and were scheduled for production volumes in the coming months. In preparation for this growth, Sil-Pro’s management team went to work making plans to provide the manufacturing space that would be necessary to accommodate the increased sales. (read more)
LEAN Success & Initiatives
The fourth quarter of 2009 saw some interesting changes as we continued to set new sales records and records for on time delivery performance. A major change was the addition of hour by hour measurements of performance at the trim and molding operations through the use of a control chart. This control chart allows us to view the hour by hour throughput performance and identify any major issues immediately. This is a giant step forward, in terms of LEAN, as we move from a review of our performance after the order has been completed to an hour by hour review of our performance as the order is being processed.
